Perils of Food Restrictions

I have to share our latest NAET adventure. Yesterday, she treated us for stomach acids (I don't know what exactly that means) but we could not eat any grains (no breads, chappatis, rice, oats, barley, etc..), no sugars, starches, fruits and meat. The kids were mortified that they could not eat any grains and so was I. What do I feed them? I soaked mixed dals, actually used the grinder and made dal dosas for breakfast. I have never grinded dals before and was worried that they  would not like the dosas but fortunately they did. Last night, I made besan pakoras  for the first time (I called Prasad at work to ask him how to make pakoras)  yet I'm not sure if deep frying is ok or not.  Fortunately dairy, eggs and boiled veggies were fine but I ran out of some key veggies and I had already sent Vijay (our driver)  3 times to the stores to get mixed dals, besan, etc.. and Prasad once. I have picky eaters, Sindhu doesn't eat eggs, Rushil didn't like the pakoras, Sindhu only eats a few vegetables and Rushil doesn't like sambar and channa has to be made just the right way. This morning,  I ran out of dal dosas for myself so I had yoghurt for breakfast and lots of sambar, vegetable and channa for lunch.  The only positive thing that came out of this, I can make ugly looking but decently tasting pakoras and freshly ground all dal dosa for you next time you come over. Still I'm craving carbs, our curfew ends at 4pm and I'm planning to gorge on some very unhealthy food!
