Happy Halloween!
We're heading to Hyderabad this weekend for my cousin's wedding!! Sindhu and Rushil will miss yet another Halloween celebration to Sindhu's utter disappointment. She had tried to convince my cousin to move out his date and has been upset about this for months. Last year we were in Jaipur so she reminds us that she is missing two Halloweens after moving here. Missing any other festival seems to be ok except this one, even Christmas and Diwali are less important to her. This year, she and Rushil are missing what could have been a fun filled weekend. Our apartment complex is having a huge trick or treating session on Saturday night. Their school is also having a celebration on Friday which they will miss as we're leaving a day early. Rushil is missing a birthday party and the local theatre groups are having a number of children's plays in English which we will miss. Sindhu has already negotiated that we buy her two special American treats that are only found on Commercial Street. Although Rushil has more years to go, Sindhu will be turning a decade old this year, she only has a few more years before trick or treating starts wearing off so I feel a bit guilty. Hope you all have a safe one.

I know what you mean. I bailed today and did not take Nina trick or treating because it was too cold out - freezing temps and we had a flooded basement to deal with again. She had been invited to her friends house and did not want to go without me for some reason. Anika went with her friends which made Nina doubly sad..
Nina and Anika had a celebration in school - I missed their parade and had to shuttle between two classrooms.
Your mail makes me feel really guilty for not taking her
