Republic Day Celebrations!

We missed Sindhu this year for the Republic Day celebration since she is at camp (BTW, she's having a great time, she did lose her voice though but it doesn't seem to be stopping her from having fun!) Rushil enjoyed every minute of the day. I reserved a game stall for Rushil and his friends where they setup a nerfball target practice game. It's actually quite an educational experience to run a stall. They learned how to innovate and come up with a game that will be fun and easy to setup, they learned how to manage money, how to recruit customers and to explain how to play the game to each customer, it's not as easy as it looks. They collected 1000 Rs which they will donate to a local NGO based school for migrant workers. Initially Rushil grumbled a bit about donating the money but later he convinced his friend that it was the right thing to do.  Our complex started off the morning with a flag hoisting ceremony followed by patriotic songs sung by children. Later, multiple game, clothing and food stalls were setup on the grounds.  In the late afternoon, the karoake machine came out  and many talented and not so talented singers belted out Hindi and a couple of Tamil songs.  It was a long but fun day.
