The Religious One
Last night Rushil and I were playing Mancala when he got worried he would lose and started chanting "Om Namo Sivaya" and praying that he would still win the game. The other day, my mother saw him praying in hopes that his friend would come over and play with him the next day :-) None of us are religious so I'm guessing he picked it up at school or more likely from a television program but he does it often enough now. He did learn a few slokhas at school and loves to recite them, I need to cultivate his interest but the timings didn't work for the slokha classes being offered at our complex. The praying may stem from his need to win every game he plays. It's very difficult for any of us to play a board game, cards or sports with him as he gets extremely upset if he loses. It's interesting to see how different Sindhu and Rushil are, praying would be completely out of character for Sindhu but age also plays a factor here. Probably a lot of Rushil's quirkiness will disappear as he gets older so we should enjoy the entertainment for now.
