More on the swine flu

We were a bit taken aback when we entered the Bangalore airport en route to Hyderabad. Many people wore masks to prevent contracting the H1N1 flu, this really frightened Sindhura. I went to the airport pharmacy to see if we could purchase any masks but of course they were sold out. Once we arrived in Hyderabad, there seemed to be less of a concern there probably because the confirmed number of cases was small . We visited my cousin at the hospital and again I was a bit perturbed to see many of the staff, patients and visitors sporting masks. It probably wasn't a bad idea since many of my family members that were on night duty at the hospital picked up some virus or another. We heard about the first H1N1 related death in Bangalore over the weekend and my first thought was, what is different about this person that she succumbed to the flu whereas so many others are able to recover from it. It's the main topic of conversation nowadays at work and outside. More upbeat post to follow.
