Effective Vegetable Cleaner?

Prasad's aunt told me that she uses a few drops of vinegar mixed with water and rinses her all her vegetables with this mixture. She has found it to be very effective and finds her vegetables are cleaner this way. Many people use vinegar as an effective non toxic cleaning agent for their home cleaning but I didn't realize people use vinegar to clean their vegetables. Given that vegetables are far dirtier here, the protocol I used to use was to wash the vegetables twice with regular water and then one rinse with filtered water. Now, I'll add vinegar to one rinse, it's especially effective for leafy vegetables. I'm glad I was introduced to this tip and thought I would share with you in case you're not aware of this.
