Sri, Srikant, Nikki and Amit, their 6 month old baby visited us in Bangalore. Amit is a great traveller and seems to go with the flow, maybe this is why it looks so easy having a baby after a break of 8 years. Nikki, their daughter is completely at ease carrying and watching him for a few minutes to give her parents break. Amit is always waiting to flash a smile and was an absolute pleasure to have around. Sindhu and Nikki picked up their friendship where they left off a year ago and had a great time together. Sri, my mother and I went to Jayanagar, 4th block and checked out another one of Bangalore's older shopping districts. We picked up a few items, Sri is a bargain shopper and can sniff out a deal a mile away. She gets the utmost pleasure in bargaining and walking away with a quality piece at an excellent price. The prices in Jayanagar are definitely gentler on the wallet. I introduced her to a few pleasures of mine, sugar cane juice at this great joint in Koramangala and american corn with masala spices which you can find pretty much anywhere. After our Jayanagar stint all of us went to dinner at Khansama, an upscale Indian restaurant at UB City Mall. We happened to run into my cousin and fiance at the mall so they also joined us for appetizers which was a pleasant surprise. The food at the restaurant was ok, the drinks were pretty good, service was very good and the ambiance was excellent. On Sunday, Sri and I made a quick trip to Fab India, Total Mall and then later to an exhibition at our apartment complex. They were selling Bengali silk saris, kurtis and suits, so the shopping continued: -) Now that all the visitors are gone, my shopping partners are also gone so probably our expenditures will go down till our trip to Bali.
